David A. Shaefer

David A. Schaefer, 54, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 19, 1955 in Belleville, IL, died Friday, Apr. 23, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.


He was preceded in death by two sons, David, Jr. and Dwayne Schaefer, his parents, Allen and Ada, nee Humphries, Schaefer and a brother, Daniel Schaefer.


He is survived by two daughters, Cortney Schaefer of Lackland AFB, TX and Theresa Schaefer of Mascoutah, IL; a son, Adam Schaefer of Joplin, MO; a daughter-in-law, Shelly Schaefer of Smithton, IL; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce (Robert) Ernst of Belleville, IL, Mary (Robert) Bruns of Shiloh, IL, Madella (David) Dodson of Springdale, AR and Lisa (Clarence) Nikolauzyk of Fayetteville, IL; a brother, Ray Schaefer of Fayetteville, IL; also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to the family and received at the funeral home.


Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM Tuesday, Apr. 27, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, Apr. 27, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. According to David’s wishes his body will be cremated following the funeral services.
