Leonard Lee Lynch

Leonard Lee “Red” Lynch, 77, of Lebanon, IL, born Oct. 30, 1932 in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Cedar Ridge Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon, IL.


After serving in the U S Army during the Korean Conflict, Leonard worked for Peerless Foundry in Belleville, was a mail carrier in Belleville; and was a chauffeur and dispatcher for the motor pool at Scott AFB. He was a former member of St. Paul UCC, Belleville; past commander of the Mascoutah American Legion Post 292; and past member of the Mascoutah Sportsman’s Club.


He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lynch and Alma, nee Mehrer, Lynch Allen; four brothers, John, Edward, James, and Bill Lynch; and two sisters, Pearl Casey and Susie Carlyle.


He is survived by two daughters, Melinda Lynch and her friend Chris Tipton of Mt. Zion, IL, Lisa (John) Tune of New Baden, IL; four grandchildren, Lane Holcomb III, Caitlyn Mae Holcomb, Abby Tune, and Colten James Tune; a dear friend, Nancy Lynch of Mascoutah, IL; two brothers, Leroy Lynch of Belleville, IL, Edgar (Ruby) Lynch of Belleville, IL,; two sisters, Geraldine Kronenberger of Belleville, IL, and Margaret Bruce of Belleville, IL; and nieces and nephews.


A special thanks is extended to the caring staff at Cedar Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and to Heartland Hospice staff.


Memorials may be made to the family.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 7 PM Monday, May 3, 2010 at Moll Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Garrison officiating. Cremation will follow.
