Lorita C. Middendorff

Lorita C. Middendorff, nee Bene, 81 of Lebanon, IL formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 13, 1928 in Mascoutah, IL, died Friday, May 28, 2010 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.


Lorita was a retired cafeteria worker for Mascoutah School District 19. She was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, HCCCW and Mascoutah VFW Auxiliary Post 7682.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Middendorff whom she married in Mascoutah, IL Aug. 29, 1953 and who died Sept. 4, 1990, a daughter, Louise Meyerkord, her parents, Henry A. and Louise W., nee Schneider, Bene, three sisters, Anna Bene, Margaret Garrett and Mary Hock, two brothers, Henry and Edward Bene and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.


She Is survived by three daughters, Elaine (Gordon) Persaud of Lee’s Summit, MO, Jane (Dennis) Haake of Belleville, IL and Karen (Terry) Szymczyk of Owen’s Crossroads, AL; four sons, Allen (Debbie) Middendorff of Thurmont, MD, Stephen Middendorff and significant other, Nancy Lang of O’Fallon, IL, Leonard (Rene’) Middendorff of Terrell, TX and Robert (Shelley) Middendorff of Marissa, IL; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy Meyer of Mehlville, MO, Helen (Edgar) Wibbenmeyer of Texas, Theresa (Eugene) Auchley of Dickerson, TX, Rose (Jack) Metzger of St. Louis, MO and Florence (Charles) Hoog of Bloomsdale, MO; two brothers, Paul (Dee Dee) Bene of Campbell, CA and John (Ruth) Bene of Joliet, IL; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund.


Visitation: from 4 to 9 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held 5:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.


Funeral: a funeral mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein and Father Von Deeke officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery.
