Mary Smith

November 1, 1916 — June 13, 2010

Mary Smith, nee Falcon, born Nov. 1, 1920 in India, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Mary was a nurse supervisor and helped run a hospital in the Panama Canal Zone. She met and married her husband of 60 years, Dr. Milton Jay Smith on Dec. 19, 1950. Mary and MJ loved to travel and have visited Russia, China, and Egypt to mention a few of their trips.


She was preceded in death by her husband on June 8, 2009; her parents, a sister, and two brothers.


She is survived by a brother, Terry Falcon of England, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn her passing are long time friends, John, Richard, and Linda Bailey and their families; Nancye Doros and John Hickox; and caregiver, Cheryl, Alex, Kyle, and Jordan Rasch.


Memorials may be made to Concerned Christians Food Pantry, P. O. Box 262, Mascoutah, IL 62258, or to the Mascoutah Senior Citizens.


Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: A celebration of life service will be held at 6 PM Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Spratte and Barbara Van Ausdall officiating.
