Kathryn J. Donner

Kathryn J. Donner, nee Sweglich, 81, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 27, 1928 in Mascoutah, IL, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.


Kathryn was a retired secretary from Mascoutah School District 19 Administrative Office. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah, IL, and Order of Eastern Star.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Alma, nee Nickel, Sweglich; her husband, George A. Donner whom she married in Mascoutah, IL on Aug. 16, 1947, and who died May 16, 1993; and a sister, Marion Klein.


She is survived by her daughter, Barbara L. Donner and partner Meredith Greenburg of Valley Glen, CA; two grandchildren, Ryan and Hunter Donner-Greenburg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marion Kneschke of Mascoutah, IL, Ralph Klein of Independence, MO, Robert (Diane) Donner of East Longmeadow, MA; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mascoutah City Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.
