Marie A. Schaffer

Marie A. Schaffer, nee Ahlers, 70, of Glen Carbon, IL, born Aug. 2, 1939 in Pinckneyville, IL, died July 24, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.


Marie was a retired tax specialist for the U. S. Government retiring in 2005 and a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, IL.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry E. and Martha, nee Smith, Ahlers.


She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Tori) Schaffer of Humble, TX; a daughter, Elizabeth (Brett) Knight of Manvel, TX; four grandchildren, Adam, Jonathan and Emily Knight and Aidan Schaffer; and a sister, Ruth Hubbard of Glen Carbon, IL.

Visitation: There will be no visitation.


Funeral: Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11 AM in Zion Cemetery, 7401 St. Charles Rock Rd., St. Louis, MO 63133 with the Rev. Dr. James Donahue officiating.
