Irving C. “Irv” Rohr, 77, of Mascoutah, IL, born Oct. 12, 1932 in Washington Park, IL, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Irv owned and operated Mascoutah Sheet Metal from 1968 to 1995; he was a member of the Mascoutah Douglas Lodge #361 AF & AM; Shriners Ainad Temple, East St. Louis; Scottish Rite Bodies, Belleville; was a member of Experimental Aircraft Assn.; a longtime member of NRA; former member of Sheetmetal Workers Local #268; and was a Korean War Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Evelyn, nee Herbig, and LaVergne Turner, and a brother, Robert L. Rohr.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley M., nee Brown, Rohr whom he married in Fort Sill, OK on July 15, 1953; a daughter, Brenda (Steven) Reed of Swansea, IL; a son, Richard C. Rohr of Dupo, IL; five grandchildren, Christine, Amanda, Carlos, Ross, and Daniel; a great-grandchild, Maclane; a sister-in-law, Sandra Rohr of Woodriver, IL; nieces, nephews, and aunts.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131-3597.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A Masonic service will be held at 7 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
