Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Phipps

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Phipps, nee Condo, 61, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 30, 1949 in Quebec, Canada, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 at her residence.


Liz was retired from Medical Diagnostic Laboratories in Belleville and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 292, Mascoutah.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Philomena, nee Martin, Condo, a sister, Linda and an aunt, Martha Chandler.


She is survived by her husband, Charles B. Phipps whom she married at Kincheloe AFB, MI, Aug. 9, 1974; two daughters, Annette (Michael) Swierczek of Freeburg, IL and Jennifer Phipps and partner Jennifer Dean of Aviston, IL; a son, Jeffery Phipps and dear friend, Rebecca Judy of Fayetteville, IL; three grandchildren, Kyle, Meeghan and Jordan Swierczek; five adopted grandchildren, Jack and Jada Judy, Makayla Dean and Oscar and Meyer Phipps; a sister, Grace Condo of Nashua, NH; and an uncle, Walter Chandler of Nashua, NH.


Funeral: A celebration of life for Liz will be held from 2 to 5 PM Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Skootr’s Restaurant, 323 East Main Street in Mascoutah.
