Ellen J. “Midge” Pries, nee Dickhaut, 71, of Mascoutah, IL formerly of Belleville, IL, born Oct. 20, 1939 in Belleville, IL, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at the MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Midge was formerly employed as a secretary at Scott Air Force Base and a clerk for J. C. Penney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence W. and Flora, nee Frerking, Dickhaut; husband, Richard E. Pries whom she married in Belleville, IL on June 6, 1959 and who died July 10, 2009; her stepmother, Luella Dickhaut, and a brother-in-law, Ed Guerin.
She is survived by three children, Terry Pries and fiancé Courtney Gousman of Michigan City, IN, Rick (Yvonne) Pries of Oklahoma, and a daughter, Michele (Thor) Bloomfield of Boiling Springs, SC; seven grandchildren, Emily and Connor Bloomfield; Yolanda Halfhill, Amanda, Melissa, Patricia, and Tabitha Pries; a sister, Sharol Guerin of New Baden, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ, New Baden, IL, or to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 at Moll Funeral Home with Rev. Gretchen Sterrett officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Fairview Heights, IL.
