Jeanette I. Voegele

Jeanette I. Voegele, nee Geiger, 83, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 5, 1927 in Helvetia Township, IL died Nov. 15, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.


Jeanette graduated from St. Paul High School in Highland and worked for Alton Box Co. in Highland until she married and moved to Mascoutah.


She was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah and St. Clair County Farm Bureau.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Felix and Ida B., nee Woltering, Geiger, four brothers, Bernard, Leonard, Othmar and Raymond Geiger, a sister, Angela Young, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Glenn Lewis, Hayden Young, Maxine Geiger and LaVerne Geiger.
She is survived by her husband, Cletus A. Voegele whom she married in Highland, IL, May 2, 1970; a daughter, DiAnn (Glenn) Roth of Mascoutah, IL; two brothers, Joseph “Butch” (JoAnne) Geiger of Highland and Francis “Jake” Geiger of Edwardsville, IL; two sisters, Alice (Roger) Vonland of Highland, IL and Dorothy Lewis of Highland, IL; sisters-in-law, Bertha Geiger of Highland, IL, Mary Geiger of Chesterfield, MO and Delores Geiger of Alhambra, IL; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to the Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund or Mascoutah Food Pantry.


Visitation: from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. There will be a prayer service 4:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.


Funeral: a funeral mass will be held 10 AM Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery.
