Elizabeth “Betty” Pruett, nee Wombacher, 87, of Mascoutah, IL, born Dec. 2, 1923 in Mascoutah, IL, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at her residence.
Betty was retired from Charles Meyer Factory in Belleville and a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob T. Pruett whom she married in Fayetteville, IL June 30, 1967 and who died Feb. 21, 2003, her parents, Louis M. and Elsie M., nee Haas, Wombacher, a brother, Louis “Jim” Wombacher, two sisters, Marian Huber and Susanne Gardner, two great-granddaughters Danielle Spellman and Faith Pruett, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Roxanne) Pruett of Nashville, IL and Randy (Patricia) Pruett Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Elena (Bobby) Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC and Elaine (Ron) Schaefer of Swansea, IL; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul (Helen) Wombacher, Charles (Darlene) Wombacher and Donald (Janice) Wombacher, all of Mascoutah, IL; five sisters, Ruth Pope of Olive Branch, MS, Rita (Jack) Wilson of Mt. Home, AR, Rosalie LaQuet of Mascoutah, IL, Patricia (Harold) Knoth of Mascoutah, IL and Kathleen Hayes of Mascoutah, IL; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Holy Childhood School or Family Hospice or in the form of Masses.
Visitation: from 4 to 9 PM Wednesday Dec. 15, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: a funeral mass will be held 10 AM Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery.
