Christopher L. Ostrander, 50, of Mascoutah, IL, born May 16, 1960 in Grayling, MI, died suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at the Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, IL.
Christopher was a retired MSgt. from the United States Air Force and currently employed as a trailer mechanic at R & L Carriers in Sauget, IL. He was a Desert Storm and Gulf War U. S. Air Force veteran and member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Ostrander; his stepfather, Al Widmayer; and a sister, Karen Bergman.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy L., nee Boly, Ostrander whom he married in Overland, MO on Apr. 17, 1982; a daughter, Beth (Brian) Stambler of West Valley, UT; a son, Paul Ostrander of Mascoutah, IL; his mother, Joan, nee Latuszek, Ostrander Widmayer of Black Mountain, NC; a brother, Craig Ostrander of Asheville, NC; mother-in-law, Dorothy Boly of Overland, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill (Betty) Boly of Florissant, MO, Janet (Kelly) Foley of Davenport, IA, John (Kris) Boly of O’Fallon, MO, Steve (Lori) Boly of Ballwin, MO, Jeannie (Tom) Nigh of Bridgeton, MO; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn. or DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
Visitation: visitation will be from 2 to 7 PM Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at the Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Father Jim Thomas officiating. Military graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, Jan. 17, 2001 in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
