Eleanore E. Schlichter, nee Schwalb, 89, of Mascoutah, IL, born December 2, 1921 in Freeburg, IL, died Saturday Feb. 12, 2011 at Grange Nursing Home, Mascoutah, IL.
Eleanore was a homemaker and a member of the St. Clair County Farm Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Schlichter whom she married Sept. 8, 1945 and who died Aug. 28, 2009, her parents, Joe and Emma M., nee Dornbach, Schwalb, three brothers, Bill, Joe and John Schwalb and a sister, Virginia Dittmann.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Mary Jane) Schlichter of Edwardsville, IL and Jim (Brenda) Schlichter of High Ridge, MO; five grandchildren, Denise Wright, Frederick (Lin) Schlichter, Regina (Richard) Schaefer, Angela (David) Tanner and Tim (Jamie) Schlichter; eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Brady and Taylor Schaefer, Luke and Logan Tanner and Emily, Caroline, and Eleanor Elisabeth Schlichter; a sister, Mary Jane Siebe; also survived by sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Grange Nursing Home or any charity of donor’s choice.
Visitation: friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday Feb. 17, 2011 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: a funeral service will be held 8:00 PM Thursday Feb. 17, 2011 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah. According to Eleanore’s wishes her body will be cremated.
