Ursula C. Case, nee Hahn, 86, of Mascoutah, IL, born Apr. 6, 1924 in Cologne, Germany, died Saturday, Mar. 19, 2011 at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center in Lebanon, IL.
Having lived during WW II in Germany, Ursula enthusiastically adopted her new home in the United States and was an avid student of politics. She was well educated, an eminent scholar of German literature, and an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Hedwig, nee Gicha, Hahn; her husband, Frank E. Case who died Aug. 15, 2000; and a sister, Martha Prein.
She is survived by her son, Robert Case of St. Louis, MO; a granddaughter, Samantha Case of St. Louis, MO; a niece, Gabrielle Prein and husband Peter Ripken of Frankfurt, Germany; and a brother-in-law, William Case of Asheville, NC.
She was a devoted wife of an Air Force veteran, a loving mother, Oma, and loyal aunt.
Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or to Rabbi’s Tribute Fund.
Visitation: visitation will be from 8 to 9:45 AM Thursday, Mar. 24, 2011 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: funeral services will be held at 9:45 AM Thursday, Mar. 24, 2011 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah with Rabbi Susan Talve officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
