Matthew Alan Rush, 49, of Belleville, IL, born May 19, 1961 in Winthrop, MA, died Tuesday, Mar. 22, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Matthew was a retired SMSGT from the U. S. Air Force and a Gulf War veteran. He worked at Headquarters Air Mobility Command at Scott AFB as Chief of Terminal Instruments Procedures Branch.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Rush.
He is survived by his parents, John and Jacqueline, nee Reilly, Rush of Revere, MA; three children, Christopher Rush of Brighton, CO, Tyler Rush of Belleville, IL, and Savannah Rush of Belleville, IL; two brothers, John Rush of Salt Lake City, UT, Mark (Yanni) Rush of Derry, NH; a sister, Andrea (Lawrence) Melanson of Winthrop, MA; nieces and nephews, Jacob, Nicholas, Reilly Rush, and Michael, Andrew, Lorenzo, and Christina Rush; and many friends.
Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 5 PM Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: Memorial services will be held 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating.
Burial: Funeral procession will leave 9:30 AM Monday, Mar. 28, 2011 from the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah to the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis for a 10:30 AM military graveside service.
