Frank Ardell Lake, 59, of New Athens, IL formerly of Lively Grove, IL, born Apr. 24, 1951 in Belleville, IL died Friday, Apr. 8, 2011 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Frank was previously employed at Sparta Printing Co. in Sparta, IL; and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL.
In 1974, after his brother Patrick had been suffering from kidney ailment for six years, Frank donated a kidney to free Pat from dialysis treatments. Frank was an avid John Deere tractor collector and was known as the “Tractor Man” where he resided at the New Athens Home for the Aged. He was also a dedicated Cubs fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alphonse Lake in 1976; stepfather, Allen Juenger in 2001; three brothers, Sam in 1980, Patrick in 1982, and Kenny in 2010.
He is survived by a daughter, Amy (Matthew) Hill of Waterloo, IL; two granddaughters, Leryn and Emerson Hill; his mother, Dorothy, nee Albers, Lake Juenger of New Athens, IL; two brothers, Terry “Otto” (Barbara) Lake of Biddleborn, IL, and George Lake of St. Libory, IL; five sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Gass of Shiloh, IL, Connie (John) Bunch of Millstadt, IL, Lisa (Danny) Krausz of Mascoutah, IL, Jackie Lake and friend Joe Moerchen of Freeburg, IL, and Jill (Tony) Jones of Collinsville, IL; sister-in-law, Carla Lake of New Athens, IL; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of all other gifts memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund or for Masses.
Visitation: visitation will be from 11 AM to 2 PM Tuesday, Apr. 12, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL.
Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 2 PM Tuesday, Apr. 12, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Stan Konieczny officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Lively Grove, IL.
