Regina E. Hummert

Regina E. Hummert, nee Kramper, 86, of St. Libory, IL, born Nov. 29, 1924 in Fayetteville Township, IL, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, July 23, 2011 while surrounded by her loving family.


Regina was a homemaker; member of St. Liborius Church in St. Libory; St. Liborius Council of Catholic Women; and the American Legion Auxiliary in St. Libory. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.


Mrs. Hummert was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert B. Hummert whom she married in St. Libory, IL on May 1, 1946 and who died July 22, 1999; her parents, Fred and Katherine, nee Buescher, Kramper; a son-in-law, Dennis Behrman; three brothers, Fred (wife, Celeste), Henry, and Remigious Kramper.


Surviving are her eight sons and five daughters, Kenneth (Judy) Hummert, Gerald (Shirley) Hummert, David (Patricia) Hummert, Norbert Hummert (friend Mary Jean Weidner), Eileen Hart (friend Bruce Steinkamp), Helen (Ron) Musenbrock, Donna Hummert (friend Bob Buescher), Dennis (Mary) Hummert all of St. Libory, IL, Leroy (Diane) Hummert of Stone Church, Nora Schmersahl of Belleville, IL, Stanley (Karen) Hummert of Halifax, VA, Patricia (Jerry) Funk of Freeburg, IL, and Sidney Hummert of San Francisco, CA; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Florus (Mildred) Kramper of St. Peters, MO; sister-in-law, Henrietta Kramper of Lively Grove, IL; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.


Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc., or to the St. Liborius Cemetery Fund.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 PM Monday, July 25, 2011 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL. A prayer service will be held at 4 PM Monday at the church.


Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory with Fr. Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will be in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery, St. Libory, IL.
