Raymond J. Hundelt, 84, of Fayetteville, IL, born Jan. 25, 1927 in Johannisburg Twp., Washington Co., IL, died Friday, July 29, 2011 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Mr. Hundelt was a retired laborer from Laborers Local 459, Belleville, IL; and previously worked at the Swift Packing House in E. St. Louis, IL; member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Fayetteville; American Legion Post 683, St. Libory; Mascoutah VFW Post 7682; St. Clair County Farm Bureau; and a U. S. Army Korean War veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes, nee Schroer, Hundelt, his wife Ruth Ann, nee Luebbers, Hundelt who he married in Fayetteville, IL on July 7, 1965 and who died May 7, 1986; a stepson, Raymond “Butch” Rodenberg, Jr.; five brothers, Urban, Clarence, John, Donald, and Albin Hundelt; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Harwerth.
He is survived by a step-daughter-in-law, Evelyn Rodenberg of Fayetteville, IL; three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Harwerth of Lenzburg, IL, and Viola (Walter) Albers of Lively Grove, IL; two brothers, Lester (Barbara) Hundelt of New Athens, IL, and Norbert (Dorene) Hundelt of Yorba Linda, CA; two sisters-in-law, Frances Hundelt and Arlene Hundelt of St. Libory, IL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of all other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Pancratius Cemetery Fund or in the form of Masses.
Visitation: friends may call from 9 AM to 12 noon Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Fayetteville, IL.
Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Fayetteville, IL with Rev. Elmar Mauer, OMI officiating. Burial will be in St. Pancratius Catholic Cemetery, Fayetteville, IL.
