Clinton C. Klees, 89, of Mascoutah, IL, born Aug. 19, 1922 in Mascoutah, IL, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Clinton was a retired painter. He worked for Frederic Hoerdt Painting in Mascoutah for over 30 years, and was self-employed for several years. He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Mascoutah where he served as financial secretary for 48 years; and was a former active member of the Mascoutah Evening Lions Club for almost 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Abby, nee Dillon, Klees; and a stepdaughter, Sharon Winker.
He is survived by his wife, Ann M., nee Roethemeier, Klees who he married in Mascoutah, IL on Sept. 20, 1986; three stepchildren, Steven Winker, Denise (Sam) Clark, and David (Angel) Winker; four step-grandchildren, Amanda and Andrea Clark, and Tyler and Hayley Winker; a step-great granddaughter, Emily Clark; cousins; friends; and his beloved beagle “Charlie”.
Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, or Metro East Humane Society in Edwardsville, or to St. Jude’s Children’s’ Hospital.
Visitation: from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL, and from 9 to 10 AM Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Mascoutah.
Funeral: funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Mascoutah with Rev. Jason Woolever officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
