Ollie Frances Barr

Frances Barr, nee Brite, 93, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 20, 1918 in Monett, MO, died Thursday, Mar. 15, 2012 at MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Frances was a retired school teacher and member of the First Baptist Church in Mascoutah.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin J. Barr who she married in Waco. TX on Aug. 31, 1943 and who died on Apr. 5, 1998; her parents, William and Ollie, nee Meador, Brite; two brothers, Byron and Allen Brite, a sister, Marie Brite, and two sisters-in-law, Mildred and Mary Brite.


She is survived by three children, Phyllis Kumm of Davey, NE, Steven Barr of Bisbee, AZ, and Linda Sue Barr-Tiemann and her husband Greg “Iggie” Tiemann of New Baden, IL; two grandchildren, Emma and Alan Tiemann of New Baden, IL; nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Mascoutah, IL.


Visitation: visiting hour with the family will be from 12 noon to 12:30 PM Monday, March 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Mascoutah.


Funeral: memorial services will be held at 12:30 PM Monday Mar. 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Mascoutah with Pastor Duane Smith officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
