Viola A. Graul

Viola A. Graul, nee Mueller, 91, of Mascoutah, IL, born Dec. 20, 1920 in Shiloh Valley Township, IL, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.


Viola was a homemaker, a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah and Women of the Moose Chapter 392, Mascoutah.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. Graul whom she married in Mascoutah, Nov. 28, 1946 and who died July 25, 2004, her daughter, Sharon Pierce, her parents, Walter and Ida, nee Schanz, Mueller and three brothers, Lester, Edgar and Roy Mueller.


She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Bruce) Vai of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Alison Vai of LaVergne, TN, Christopher (Heidi) Pierce of Mascoutah, IL and Eric (Amy) Vai of Mt. Juliet, TN; two great-grandchildren, Maryella and Nathaniel Pierce; a sister, Dorothy Schrempp of Mascoutah, IL; also survived by nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah.


Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL, and from 9 to 10 AM Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah.


Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
