Omar L. Weidler

Omar L. Weidler, 90, of Bloomington, IL, formerly of Mascoutah and Alton, IL, born Oct. 16, 1921 in Mascoutah, IL, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 at his residence.


Omar was retired from Civil Service; a member of Douglas Lodge #361 AF & AM of Mascoutah; American Legion Post 292 of Mascoutah, Mascoutah VFW Post 7682; Ainad Shriners of E. St. Louis, IL; the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Southern Illinois in Belleville, IL; was a Sergeant in the Army and a veteran of WW II.


Omar was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Clara, nee Graul, Weidler; and a sister, Betty Jean Renth.


Surviving are three children, Barbara Barbour of Oviedo, FL, Kay (Tom) Wayne of Bloomington, IL, and David Weidler of Mascoutah, IL; five grandchildren, Scott Foppe, Amy (Brian) Bombard, Teresa (Matt) Hodges, Lauren Seidner, and Rachel Seidner; four great-grandchildren, Haley and Jordan Bombard, and Tyler and Alyssa Hodges; and a sister, Kathleen Griswald of Silverton, OR.

Visitation: There will be no visitation.


Funeral: graveside services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
