Dorothy E. Gramm

Dorothy E. Gramm, nee Schanz, 87, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 7, 1924 in Mascoutah, IL, died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at MarKa Nursing Home, Mascoutah, IL.

Dorothy was a loving homemaker, a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah, IL, Mascoutah V.F.W. Auxiliary and Women of the Moose Chapter 392, Mascoutah.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Robert Henry Miller, her parents, Louis and Elisabeth, nee Schnur, Schanz, four brothers, Erwin, Clarence, Sylvester and Vernon Schanz, three sisters, Olivia McCrady, Adele Schanz, Loretta Schanz, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Gramm of Mascoutah, IL, whom she married in Mascoutah, IL on March 22, 1953; a daughter, Rita (Ron) Skimehorn of Mascoutah, IL; two sons, Roger (Susann) Gramm and Roy Gramm, both of Mascoutah, IL; six grandchildren, Janet (Mike) Miller, Jill Shearer, Jeff (Tammy) Gramm, and Rachael, Miranda and Aylissa Skimehorn; four great-grandchildren; also survived by a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
