Doris M. Newitt, nee Buettner, 87, of Mascoutah, IL, born June 2, 1922 in Centralia, IL, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at her residence.
Doris was a homemaker and member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL. She also worked for a while at Famous Department Store in Fairview Heights, IL selling fine jewelry and sportswear. There she made many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick H. Newitt whom she married in St. Louis, MO on Apr. 14, 1942, and who died Oct. 15, 1998; and her parents, William and Lottie, nee Reynolds, Buettner, Jr.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Sharon (Ted) Pucci of Kingsford, MI; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.
