James B. Knott, 67, of Mascoutah, IL, born April 30, 1942 in Champaign, IL, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Cook, MN.
Jim was a retired teacher and athletic director from Mascoutah Community High School, and was the PGA golf professional at Far Oaks Golf Club in Fairview Heights, IL. He attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Mascoutah; member of the Anthony Doherty Masonic Lodge #1111 in Cisne, IL; and a US Army Vietnam Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Marian, nee Wood, Knott.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia M., nee Wickham, Knott whom he married in Enterprise, IL on July 10, 1966; a daughter, Jodi Knott-Zilafro and husband, Eric of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Allison, Alex and Luke Zilafro; a brother, Jack (Barbara) Knott of St. Joseph, IL; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Linda Wickham of Cisne, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 6 PM Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Mascoutah Middle School Multi Purpose Room, 846 N. Sixth St., Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Mascoutah Middle School Multi Purpose Room with Rev. Ralph Blevins officiating. A graveside service with military rites will be held 2 PM Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Cisne Cemetery, Cisne, IL. |
