Marie E. Johannsen, nee Postel, 85, of Belleville, IL, born July 11, 1923 in Mascoutah, IL, died Dec. 12, 2008 at the Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, IL.
Marie was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Urban S. and Erna E., Nee Hucky, Postel.
At the time of her death she was survived by her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Wayne B. Johannsen, whom she married in Mascoutah, IL on June 19, 1947, and who recently died Sept. 26, 2009; a daughter, Barbara Kendell of Peoria, IL; two sisters, Bernice Postel of Mascoutah, IL, Louise Trabue of Whitenberg, AZ; and a brother, Paul (Mardi) Postel of Grayville, IL.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:00 am Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at the Espenschied Chapel in the Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at the Espenschied Chapel with Rev. Jason Woolever officiating. Burial will be in the Mascoutah City Cemetery. |
