Mary M. “Dusty” Fehner, nee LaPlante, 81, of Smithville, MO, formerly of Marissa, IL, born July 15, 1926 in Bonne Terre, MO, died Monday, July 7, 2008 in Mascoutah, IL.
She was a retired grade school teacher from Marissa Grade School in Marissa, IL, a member of the Illinois Federation of Teachers, and Murphysboro American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Genevieve, nee Goodman, LaPlante, and three brothers, Clovis, Junior, and Chad LaPlante.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Suzanne (Marvin) Woods of Kingsport, TN, Valerie (Mickey) Michael of Wildwood, MO, Laura (Thomas) Luecking of Mascoutah, IL; a son, Laurence (Beverly) Fehner of Smithville, MO; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Rev. R. J. LaPlante of Ottawa, Canada; and a sister-in-law, Imogene LaPlante of Murphysboro, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mid Illinois Talking Books Center, Alliance Library System, 600 High Point Lane, Suite 2, East Peoria, IL 61611, or in the form of masses, or to St. Pius High School, Kansas City, MO, or to Althoff High School, Belleville, IL.
Visitation: friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Murphysboro, IL.
Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Murphysboro, IL with Rev. Gary Gummersheimer officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. |
